Planning Your Next Itinerary? Make Your First Stop Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Here's why:

  • Of the 23 million U.S. residents who will travel to international destinations this year, it is estimated that more than half of these travelers will suffer some kind of illness that will claim three of their average 14 days of travel.

  • The World Health Organization advises travelers to consult a travel medicine clinic or personal physician four to six weeks before departure if the travel destination is one where exposure to any vaccine-preventable diseases may occur.

Did You Know?
In many parts of the world, diseases we never think about are quite common. Diseases like yellow fever, typhoid, dengue fever, hepatitis A and B, meningitis, Japanese encephalitis, diphtheria, cholera and more can not only ruin a foreign trip, but also place travelers at risk. Despite recent fears of international air travel, many people continue to travel abroad for business and pleasure, yet only a small percentage of these travelers protect themselves by getting immunized against travel-related diseases. The low rate may be the result of a lack of awareness regarding travel-related disease and the availability of travel vaccines.

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic urges travelers to educate themselves about these issues and encourages them to get immunized before traveling abroad. There is no shortage of immunizations, so travel wisely. Protect your health and your travel plan.
